Redwire Successfully Completes CDR for ELSA Solar Arrays for for National Security Program with Moog

Redwire announced that is has successfully completed critical design review (CDR) for ELSA solar arrays for an undisclosed national security program in Low Earth Orbit, through a contract with Moog Inc.  This milestone paves the way for manufacturing and integration with Moog Inc.’s METEOR satellite bus.

Through a contract with Moog announced in March 2026, Redwire is responsible for the system design, manufacturing, testing, and flight hardware delivery of the ELSA solar array wings. ELSA has also been baselined by Moog as a standard component of their METEOR ESPA-Grande satellite bus. The bus is all-orbit capable and supports a wide variety of missions and flight profiles, including pathfinder constellation missions and other disaggregated architectures.

The CDR confirmed that ELSA’s design has undergone a rigorous and detailed assessment and is in full compliance with customer requirements for the program.

ELSA is designed for customers who need to minimize solar array stowed volume and mass, while remaining competitive with conventional solar array performance and pricing. The solution provides 50% more power by volume than traditional solar arrays.
